What kind of company will you be joining as a parts & service sales engineer?

 

We are hiring a Parts & Service Sales Engineer for one of our industrial clients. The position is based in Southeast Asia or the broader Asia-Pacific region, with a cross-functional role spanning technical support, sales, and distributor assistance.

 

Parts & service sales engineer: What will your responsibilities be?

 

As a Parts & Service Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for developing aftermarket sales for a range of industrial diesel engines (from small to large capacity), while optimizing customer satisfaction and commercial profitability.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Business development and sales strategy:

  • Achieve sales growth targets and explore new markets
  • Actively promote aftermarket products and related services
  • Develop and monitor sales forecasts and pipelines
  • Create and present commercial proposals to clients and distributors

 

Technical support and customer relations:

  • Provide technical advice on spare parts and engine products
  • Support distributors with selection, stock management, and inventory turnover
  • Optimize internal stock levels and consignment stock at customer sites

 

Coordination and reporting:

  • Maintain thorough documentation of projects, pricing, sales, and activity reports
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new opportunities with existing clients
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects in collaboration with other departments

 

What profile and skills are needed for this parts & service sales engineer position?

 

Education: Degree (BTS to Master’s) in mechanical or electrical engineering

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in spare parts sales, aftermarket, or the automotive industry
  • Experience with an engine manufacturer is a strong advantage

 

Technical and commercial skills:

  • Good knowledge of industrial diesel engines
  • Strong customer service orientation and results-driven mindset
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills

 

Languages:

  • Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Mandarin is a valued plus for working with regional distributors

 

Mobility:

  • Frequent travel (10–15%) required in Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia
