What kind of structure will you be joining as a construction supervisor – civil?

 

We are looking for a construction supervisor – civil for one of our clients in the Oil & Gas sector, for an onshore position with direct supervision of civil engineering activities on-site.

 

Construction supervisor – civil: What will your missions and responsibilities be?

 

You will be responsible for overseeing civil engineering work carried out by subcontractors, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, deadlines, and budget standards. You will manage the daily coordination of on-site activities across all relevant installations.

 

Your responsibilities include:

 

Supervision of Civil Engineering Activities:

• Plan tasks according to the priorities and needs of the site.
• Supervise field teams and allocate daily responsibilities.
• Monitor personnel attendance and ensure proper technical and safety training.
• Oversee the use of equipment, materials, and tools on-site.

 

Operational Management:

• Read and interpret civil engineering plans, isometric drawings, and technical diagrams.
• Ensure work is carried out according to technical specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect works for compliance, conduct inspections (per the Inspection & Test Plan), and organize future checks.
• Report daily progress to the Senior Construction Supervisor.

 

Quality, Safety, and Reporting:

• Apply and ensure adherence to current HSE procedures by the teams.
• Identify discrepancies or non-compliance, and propose corrective actions.
• Participate in audits, safety meetings, and lead site briefings.
• Manage the work permits necessary for task execution.

 

What profile and skills are required for this construction supervisor – civil position?

 

Education:
Secondary education + higher qualification in civil engineering (BTS, DUT, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent).

 

Experience:
At least 5 years of experience supervising civil engineering works, ideally in the Oil & Gas sector.
Experience in subcontractor management and multi-site coordination.

 

Technical Skills:

• Excellent proficiency in reading plans, isometric drawings, and technical diagrams.
• Knowledge of construction standards, materials, tests, and tolerances.
• Strong skills in coordination, supervision, and project planning.

 

Languages: Good level of English (oral and written).

Required Permit: Valid driving license (UAE or equivalent).

Tools: Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD.
