What kind of structure will you be joining as a Confirmed Catenary Engineer?
We are recruiting, on behalf of our client — a global leader in sustainable engineering consulting and design — a Confirmed Catenary Engineer for a permanent position based in Lyon (France).
Confirmed Catenary Engineer – What will your missions and responsibilities be?
As part of the development of railway activities, you will work on a variety of maintenance and investment projects on the French National Rail Network (RFN), as well as port and urban infrastructure projects.
Your main tasks will include:
Catenary studies for:
- Track equipment replacement projects (RAV)
- GOP projects (e.g., Arras–Dunkerque)
- Line modernization projects (e.g., Cambrai–Douai)
You will also be involved in:
- The creation of maintenance workshops
- The development of train storage sites
- Contributing actively to the development of BIM applied to railway engineering
- Performing external control (Visa) missions, notably on the CDG Express project
What profile and skills are required for this Confirmed Catenary Engineer position?
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in designing and adapting catenary systems
- Solid understanding of the technical, safety, and operational environment of railway projects
- Awareness of safety constraints and work organization in live railway environments
Soft Skills:
- Ability to adapt to varied project environments
- Strong team spirit and collaborative mindset
- Rigor, autonomy, and strong organizational skills
- Analytical thinking and the ability to take perspective
Required Profile:
- Engineering degree or equivalent in electrotechnics, infrastructure, or railways
- 7 to 12 years of professional experience
- At least 5 years of significant experience on catenary projects
- Familiarity with SNCF standards is appreciated
- Availability: within 3 months
