Construction Manager

In which structure will you work as a Construction Manager ?

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Construction Manager position.

Location: Dunkirk (100% full-time on site)
Start date: October 2025
Duration: From October 2025 to December 2028

• Key accountabilities: 

• Oversee construction manager of EPCM for the cluster (Engineering Procurement construction and Management).
• Ensure construction quality, progress and safety (e.g. adherence to EHS & QA/QC requirements).
• Ensure the coordination and execution of the project by the Joint Venture complies EHS & QA/QC & Schedule requirements by contractors
• Close coordination/collaboration with Commissioning Teams
• Steer construction contractors

• Major tasks:

• Act as escalation authority for construction management related topics of the cluster and resolve conflicts
• Oversee the overall construction management topics in the cluster incl. its sub-disciplines (construction, commissioning) and delegate tasks
• Review and approve the EPCM/construction contractor execution plan, method statement and construction schedule for the cluster.
• Ensure the best scenario (EHS – QA/QC - Schedule) is built taking account AM requirements & contractors/Subcontractors proposal. 
• Has the authority to align all parties on the optimized scenario.
• Develops project baseline schedule by providing input of construction work breakdown, sequence of activities, duration of activities, etc (from JV and EPCM).
• Conduct inspections to check the construction quality, progress and safety
• Identify risks of construction and take mitigation actions timely
• Early in the projects, performs all geotechnical studies and scanning to ensure design and layout is made in a safe way (EHS & existing assets / networks) & in the best phasing of activities.
• Join safety walk throughs for construction in the cluster
• Reports on construction activity on a regular basis (alignment with objectives, mitigation & action plan when required).

 
What profile and skills are required for this Construction Manager position?

• Qualification & skills:

• Qualification: university degree in engineering
• 10+ years of work experience in construction, preferably in CAPEX programs
• Experience in multidisciplinary & international projects including construction, mechanical, electrical, gas, instrumentation disciplines.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment, ensuring all parties are aligned on the EHS & QA/QC standards of the project (including lowcost countries).

• Skills: excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to deal with ambiguity. 
• Fluent in English, French is a plus
• Project management/scheduling tools (PRIMAVERA)
• Construction IT tools (AUTOCAD ; AWP)

• Management skills: ability to align team members on priorities, deliverables and to face difficulties. Ensure team skill development and alignment with project requirements (know how & mindset).
