OPC/Site Planner: What will your duties and responsibilities be?
As the person in charge of planning, you will constantly monitor the project planning (level 3/4) with regard to the design and delivery of equipment, identify trends requiring action to control the schedule, and keep the construction team informed of any changes.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop the Level 3 project schedule based on activities, units, and subcontracting strategy (main construction schedule), and define a milestone program for the work.
- Ensure consistency between the Level 3 project schedule and subcontractor schedules, and critically review these schedules.
- Compile subcontractor schedules into a common site schedule (level 4 schedules).
- Prepare all scheduling and progress input data required for the monthly site progress report and submit it to the site manager and/or construction manager.
- Develop and update the work progress monitoring system, taking into account (by subcontract and/or by trade/discipline) the status and quantity of work to be performed, as well as the resources required to achieve the expected performance.
- Oversee the preparation of the weekly site report.
- Verify on site that the actual situation is consistent with the planned situation.
- Review subcontractors' resources in relation to planned progress and suggest adjustments if necessary.
- Monitor progress (scheduling/advancement) by anticipating possible trends or deviations in order to determine their impact on the overall schedule and alert the site manager and project management.
- Resolve problems in the event of disruptions to delivery schedules.
- Keep track of the status and quantity of work completed and maintain labor forecasts, progress charts, and histograms.
- Attend coordination meetings with subcontractors to manage the coordination of mobilization dates, access to work areas, and demobilization of subcontractors.
- Verify, with the support of construction management and your team, that the work has been fully completed and recommend its acceptance and final payment.
- Generate reports describing progress comparisons and establish any necessary schedule revisions and changes to the work logic.
- Propose an analysis of actions to improve the progress or execution of selected tasks.
- Identify and summarize existing or potential problems.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of the schedule in order to compare progress with forecasts.
- Monitor events that have an impact on the schedule and provide a site manager analysis.
What profile and skills are required for this OPC/Site Planner position?
- You have at least 10 years' experience in industrial construction projects in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector.
- You have experience in carrying out revamping work under operating conditions with scheduled shutdowns.
- You have experience in construction monitoring with an integrated site supervision team (MOE)
- You are comfortable with pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up activities and related documents, as well as with monitoring supplies, shipments, and work contracts
- You are proficient in Primavera P6 and MSP planning software
