Construction Supervisor

In what structure will you be a Civil Engineering Supervisor? 

We are looking for a Civil Engineering and Finishing Works Site Supervisor for one of our clients in the energy sector, based in Le Moule (Guadeloupe).  

Civil Engineering Supervisor: What will your duties and responsibilities be?

As part of the on-site project management team and under the supervision of the Site Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the final stages of construction, including but not limited to:

• Base camp: completion of work and dismantling of the temporary base camp
• Various concrete slabs and other minor civil engineering works in progress or to come (core drilling, stringers, secondary foundations)
• Coordination of work on the guard post, weighbridge, and new gate
• Finishing work on the new guard post
• Finalization of construction work on the pellet storage dome
• Fire protection network
• Finishing touches and removal of reservations
• Finishing touches on the pellet unloading building
• Roadworks

Your main responsibilities will be :

• Be uncompromising in enforcing HSE rules on the construction site
• Ensure that work is prepared on site and anticipate/monitor assembly.
• Working with the site logistics manager to ensure that the equipment delivered to the companies is available (quantitative and qualitative).
• Ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with the specifications/engineering and accepting the completed work, while being responsible for drawing up lists of reservations.
• Coordinating the various works with suppliers and the operator.
• Report quality discrepancies to the quality manager, issuing non-compliance reports where necessary and following up on them.
• Participate in weekly and daily meetings with contractors and ensure reporting.
• In coordination with the project planner, ensure that the phasing of contractors' assembly work is in line with the overall schedule.
• Take HSE aspects into account during the assembly phases, in coordination with the project's HSE unit and operations.
• Ensure the transfer of installations to the assembly companies with a minimum of reservations.

Main deliverables :

• Minutes of the handover of work areas to suppliers
• Daily progress of work and monitoring of company schedules
• Weekly report on activities carried out in project format
• Final files (end of work report, handover report, DOE, etc.)
• Monitoring of reserve lists and non-compliance reports

What profile and skills are required for this Civil Engineering Supervisor position? 

• You have at least 5 years' experience in civil engineering and finishing work in the construction or industrial sector
• You have field/site experience in the construction phase, ideally on biomass power plants, incineration plants, etc.
• You have a good knowledge of standards and regulations and are proficient in reading plans. 
• You have a professional level of French and English.
