Where will you work as a Control & Safety Systems (ICSS) Engineer?

We are hiring, on behalf of a major EPC player in the Oil & Gas / LNG sector, a Control & Safety Systems (ICSS) Engineer based in Nanterre, France. 12-month assignment. 

Control & Safety Systems (ICSS) Engineer: Missions & Responsibilities

  • Develop / update technical specifications for DCS/SIS.

  • Define / revamp ICSS architectures (control and safety).

  • Contribute to ICSS basic and/or detailed design and manage internal/external interfaces (disciplines, partners, subcontractors, vendors).

  • Support installation validation (panels/marshalling cabinets, typical loops, F&G).

  • Prepare functional specifications: functional analysis, control narrative, Cause & Effect matrices, logic diagrams.

  • Participate in vendor alignment and FAT activities.

  • Deliver high-quality documentation (technical, content, layout) in the contract language (English).

  • Comply with project/discipline Quality plans (DQHSEP) and procedures.

Profile & Skills for the Control & Safety Systems Engineer role

Education

  • Engineering degree or Master’s in Automation / Instrumentation / Electrical / Industrial IT.

Experience

  • ≥ 8 years on control & safety systems in Oil & Gas (onshore/offshore preferred).

  • Strong exposure to EPC projects and multi-discipline/vendor interfaces.

Skills

  • Solid command of ICSS (DCS/SIS), industrial networks, Oil & Gas process & F&G rules.

  • Knowledge of standards: ISA 5.1/2/3/4/5/6; IEC 61511; IEC 62443. IEC 61511 certification (TÜV / QUALI-SIL) is a plus.

  • Fluent English (contract language). Strong reporting. Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Visio).
