In what kind of organization will you be working as an Environmental Impact Assessment Engineer?

Our client is a leading engineering consultancy operating in France and internationally on major transport infrastructure projects: highways, rail lines, ports, airports, urban infrastructures, canals…
As part of a large-scale river infrastructure project, our client is looking to strengthen its Project Management Assistance (AMO) and Project Management team by recruiting an Environmental Impact Assessment Engineer.

Environmental Impact Assessment Engineer – What will your missions and responsibilities be?

• Participate in the development, update, and coordination of the project’s environmental impact studies.
• Manage or monitor service providers responsible for thematic studies (fauna/flora, aquatic environments, air/noise quality, landscapes…).
• Analyze technical and environmental documents and provide operational recommendations.
• Contribute to the definition and monitoring of ERC measures (Avoid – Reduce – Compensate).
• Ensure the project’s compliance with current environmental regulations.
• Participate in discussions with stakeholders: government services, local authorities, engineering firms, technical partners.
• Draft summary notes, reports, and environmental monitoring documentation.
• Provide support to the project owner on environmental issues throughout the project.

What profile and skills are required for this Environmental Impact Assessment Engineer position?

• Education
Engineering degree or master’s degree in environmental studies, ecology, ecological engineering, or equivalent.

• Experience
2 to 3 years of experience in environmental impact assessments, ideally on linear infrastructures (roads, railways, networks, river works…).

• Skills
• Strong knowledge of French and European environmental regulations.
• Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary studies.
• Proficiency in standard office software; GIS skills appreciated.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities; ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Rigor, autonomy, and strong synthesis skills.
