What kind of structure will you be joining as Technical Lead – Equipment and Packages?
We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our clients in the chemical industry, a Technical Lead – Equipment and Packages, to be based in Lyon, France.

 
Technical Lead – Equipment and Packages: What will your roles and responsibilities be?
As part of a multi-disciplinary project in the chemical sector, you will be integrated into the project team as Technical Lead for equipment and packages. You will be responsible for both leading a team of 2 to 3 equipment engineers during the ACT phase and managing the technical follow-up of several equipment packages.

Main Responsibilities:
Equipment follow-up:

Supervise one or more lots of pressure and/or packaged equipment such as tanks, reactors, heat exchangers, chillers, cooling towers, big bag unloading stations, etc.
Coordinate with other technical departments (process, procurement, HSE, general installation, civil & structural, instrumentation, electricity, construction), as well as with the client.
Prepare and update technical documents for the Request for Proposal (RFP): data sheets, technical specifications, scopes of supply.
Analyze suppliers’ technical offers and conduct technical clarifications as needed.
Develop technical comparison tables to support supplier selection.
Ensure technical follow-up after purchase: document management, compliance with specifications, coordination with other departments, inspections, and management of technical comments.
Technical leadership:

Participate in weekly project meetings.
Monitor the progress of equipment lots managed by your engineering team.
Serve as the main point of contact for the Project Manager regarding the equipment scope (planning, deliverables, resources, etc.).
 
What profile and skills are required for this Technical Lead – Equipment and Packages position?
Education:
Engineering degree (BAC+5) from a technical engineering school or equivalent Master’s degree.
Experience:
Confirmed to senior level: Minimum 6 years of experience in equipment engineering within an industrial or large-scale project environment.
Previous experience in technical coordination or team leadership is highly valued.
Technical skills:
Strong knowledge of pressure vessels and industrial package equipment.
Good command of applicable codes and standards: CODAP, PED, etc.
Understanding of related technical disciplines: piping, civil engineering, structural design, etc.
Proficiency in office tools (Microsoft Office Suite).
Strong writing and documentation skills, with an analytical mindset.
Familiarity with design or project tracking software is a plus.

Teamwork and technical leadership.
Languages:
French: fluent
English: professional level
