We are looking for a Geophysics Engineer for one of our clients in the energy sector, based in La Garenne-Colombes (92), France.

Geophysics Engineer : What will your missions and responsibilities be ?
  • Conduct studies based on continuous passive seismic signals to detect and characterize local seismicity as well as ambient seismic noise, using primarily Python, Matlab, or Fortran codes—either developed in-house, by academic partners, or third-party open-source providers—frequently utilizing a Unix-based computing cluster.
  • Manage, maintain, and document continuously evolving code using version control tools like Git. Deploy applications using Docker.
  • Contribute to the design of geophysical data acquisition campaigns and define specifications for the processing of acquired data.
  • Validate acquired data during geophysical field campaigns.
  • Organize and/or supervise operations and/or personally participate in passive geophysical data acquisition operations (sizing, installing, and maintaining temporary broadband seismometer networks, installing and managing seismic node pools, etc.).
  • Occasionally perform and oversee geological and/or geophysical studies (structural analysis, attribute coherence, etc.) based on reflection seismic data using industry-standard applications. Use advanced specialized software for post-processing.
  • Occasionally organize and/or supervise active seismic data acquisition operations and ensure compliance with technical specifications. Once the processing plan is validated by the contractor, oversee its implementation and validate both intermediate and final results.
  • Participate in research projects and technology watch in geology and geophysics, aiming to master, develop, or test new geophysical techniques.
  • Test new methods, develop and/or evaluate new software and codes in your area of expertise to assess their relevance and added value to the company.
