GIS Geologist

In what structure will you be working as a GIS Geologist?


We are looking for a GIS Geologist (3 days per week) for one of our clients in the energy sector (underground storage and geosciences), who will be based in La Garenne Colombes (92).
 
 
GIS Geologist: What will your tasks and responsibilities be? 

1. Provide support to the IT and Data Management operational teams, taking charge of:

• GIS database management: incoming data flows, map creation
• Seismic and well database management
• Network tree structure management (Windows file system)
• Data loading assistance: checkspot entry, MISTY corrections, etc. 

2. Providing support to operational teams in the geosciences field: 

• Assistance with seismic well calibration 
• Generating time maps from geophysical points on CPS3, ZMAP, Petrel, and others 
• Manipulating time or depth grids (isopachs, etc.) 
• Assistance with T/P conversion 
• Log editing (sorting, formatting, digitization, vectorization)
• Generation of correlation charts and maps
• Vector drawing work
• PowerPoint preparation
• Bibliographic research
• Printing of maps according to requests (IHS, Wood Mackenzie, Arcview, etc.)
• Project assembly on interpretation platforms such as SMT
• Participation in GGR software evaluations (interpretation, databases, etc.)

3. Participate in Data Rooms:

• Database management
• Assistance with data recovery
• Participation, where applicable, in project follow-up or coordination meetings

4. Ensure compliance with the confidentiality charter for data and information handled
 

What profile and skills are required for this GIS Geologist position?

• 
  
• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in geosciences, geology, or equivalent.
• You have at least some initial experience with GIS databases applied to the fields of geosciences and/or the oil industry.
• You are comfortable with GGR tools: Geoframe, Petrel, SMT, Landmark, GOCAD. 
• You have a professional level of English.
