Which company will you be joining as a “Head of Legal (M/F)”?

We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our clients, a “Head of Legal” to be based in Pointe-Noire (Republic of Congo). 

 

“Head of Legal (M/F)”:  What will your missions and responsibilities be?

Missions & Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance across all areas of the business and ensure compliance with local and international laws
• Supervise the legal department and manage external legal counsel
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements
• Support joint ventures and represent the company with regulatory authorities
• Advise management on legal risks and recommend proactive measures
• Oversee dispute resolution and monitor legislative and regulatory changes
• Deliver legal training and maintain awareness of industry best practices

 

What profile and skills are required for this “Head of Legal (M/F)” role?

• Law degree (minimum 5 years) with specialization in business or commercial law
• 15+ years of professional experience in a similar role, ideally in oil & gas or a large law firm
• Strong knowledge of Congolese law and local regulations
• Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis skills
• Ability to resolve complex legal issues effectively
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Fluent in French and English; Portuguese is a plus
