Pavement Design Engineer (M/F)

What kind of structure will you be working in?

You will join an engineering team specialized in transport infrastructure and development projects. You will work on a variety of projects involving the design, structural assessment and rehabilitation of pavements for roads, highways, industrial platforms, ports and airports.

As part of the development of its activities, our client is looking for a Pavement Design Engineer to carry out technical studies and contribute to the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Position: What will your responsibilities be?

As a Pavement Design Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out pavement design and rehabilitation studies for various transport infrastructure and development projects;
• Designing and sizing pavement structures according to project requirements, technical constraints and traffic conditions;
• Performing the necessary calculations and technical analyses to define appropriate design solutions;
• Reviewing geotechnical data and, where relevant, incorporating soil and material characteristics into pavement design;
• Preparing technical studies, calculation notes and associated documentation;
• Assessing different design options and proposing suitable technical solutions based on project constraints;
• Participating in technical discussions with the various project stakeholders;
• Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, methods and best practices in pavement engineering.

A strong command of ALIZE is mandatory for this position. You will be required to use ALIZE on a regular basis for pavement structural design, sizing and rehabilitation studies.

What qualifications and skills are required?

Education:

• Master's degree (5-year higher education) or Engineering degree, with a specialization in pavement engineering, road infrastructure and/or geotechnical engineering;
• A PhD in a related field would be an advantage.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in pavement engineering;
• Proven experience in pavement structural design and/or rehabilitation;
• Experience working on road, highway, industrial platform, port or airport projects would be an advantage.

Skills:

• Strong command of ALIZE is mandatory;
• Solid knowledge of pavement design, structural sizing and rehabilitation techniques;
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering would be a strong advantage;
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills;
• Fluent English is essential;
• Ability to work on complex technical projects and interact effectively with different stakeholders.
