What kind of company will you be joining as a piping engineer? 

  

We are currently looking for a piping engineer for one of our clients in the energy sector, based in La Défense (Paris), France. 

  

Piping engineer: What will your missions and responsibilities be? 

  

Your main responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Writing calculation notes (pipe thickness, branches) in compliance with current standards. 
  • Preparing technical specifications (piping classes). 
  • Analyzing suppliers’ technical offers (pipes, fittings, flanges, manual valves, etc.). 
  • Supporting inspection, expediting, packages, and mechanical teams. 
  • Interacting with clients and suppliers/contractors. 
  • Verifying the compliance of proposed equipment with specifications (codes, standards, or client requirements). 
  • Proposing specific support solutions in line with flexibility calculation recommendations. 
  • Monitoring and reviewing flexibility calculation notes. 
  • Acting as the technical reference for project teams. 
  • Ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met. 
  • Providing input on piping layouts and support systems. 

  

What profile and skills are required for this piping engineer position? 

 

 

Education: Engineering degree, ideally with a specialization in mechanical or industrial piping engineering. 

 

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an engineering office as a Piping Material Engineer. 

 

Technical skills: Proficiency in EN, ASME, API, and ISO standards, as well as construction codes such as ASME B31.3, CODETI, EN 13480, and the PED (Pressure Equipment Directive). 

Familiarity with tools such as Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and CAD/CAE software (Aveva, Autodesk). 

 

Personal qualities: Leadership, client-oriented mindset, precision, and autonomy. 

 

Language: Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
