Where will you be working – Lead Regulatory Compliance?

We are looking for one of our clients in the oil and gas sector for a Lead Regulatory Compliance position based in Nanterre (La Défense).

Lead Regulatory Compliance: What will be your missions and responsibilities?

  • Establish, maintain, and implement project procedures related to regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure proper reporting to the Project Management.

  • Act as a key interface between the Houston and Paris operational centers for regulatory activities, ensuring full information flow from Houston to strengthen coordination within the Paris operations team. Establish and maintain workflow coordination between both centers.

  • Support engineering disciplines with local and national regulatory requirements and keep the project informed of regulations impacting each project phase, providing clarification when needed. Consolidate and monitor regulatory information.

  • Ensure the development and implementation of the Regulatory Compliance Plan.

  • Establish and maintain a permit and authorization register.

  • Support disciplines in implementing, monitoring, and reporting on FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) conditions.

  • Consolidate all data related to labelling, stamping, and import requirements, and support disciplines in tracking these activities.

  • Ensure that all required compliance activities are carried out by subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Act as the internal and external point of contact for all the above-mentioned activities.

Profile and skills required for this Lead Regulatory Compliance position:

You are the ideal candidate if you hold an engineering degree (or equivalent) and have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience on onshore oil & gas projects, including collaboration with third-party organizations, national authorities, and regulatory compliance activities.

You have solid experience in EPC project execution. Previous experience working with North American regulatory frameworks is a strong asset — familiarity with Louisiana regulations would be an advantage.

You are capable of working effectively with third-party organizations, local authorities, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internally with multiple engineering disciplines.

You have a solid understanding of certification processes, as well as the roles, responsibilities, and boundaries between suppliers, subcontractors, contractors, and clients.

You possess technical knowledge of systems and packages, as well as construction and testing philosophies.
Experience in operations, engineering, construction, and commissioning, and a good understanding of engineering workflows, are also valuable assets.

The project is based in the United States and involves significant technical and regulatory specificities, including equipment labelling and FERC regulations (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission).

Previous experience on LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) projects executed in the United States — or alternatively in Canada, which follows similar standards — is essential.
As this is an onshore project, prior experience in this type of environment is also mandatory.
