In which organization will you work as a Mechanical Engineering Lead?

We are looking, for one of our clients in the boilermaking industry, for a Mechanical Engineering Lead, based in the Lyon area.


Mechanical Engineering Lead: What will your missions and responsibilities be?

Reporting to the Head of Engineering and working closely with the Project Manager, you will be the engineering lead and the main technical point of contact for the project.

You will carry out design studies in accordance with specifications and agreed project milestones.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting technical and regulatory documentation

  • Managing external engineering service providers (regulatory studies, safety, calculations, etc.)

  • Reviewing and validating external technical documentation

  • Leading designers in the layout and drafting of equipment drawings

  • Ensuring compliance with requirements related to pressure equipment regulations (ESP/N)

  • Solving design and calculation issues with the support of subject-matter experts

  • Providing technical support to workshops during the manufacturing phase


What profile and skills are required for this Mechanical Engineering Lead position?

You have 5 years of experience or more in a similar role.

You hold a general mechanical engineering degree (or equivalent), with a specialization in design.

Knowledge of welded assemblies and experience in a similar industrial sector are strong advantages. With a solid technical background and a critical mindset, you have basic calculation skills that allow you to justify the proposed technical solutions. You demonstrate autonomy and rigor in your daily work, and your listening skills and interpersonal abilities enable you to work effectively with other departments.
