Offshore HSE supervisor (M/F)

What kind of structure will you be joining as an offshore HSE supervisor?   We are recruiting on behalf of one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas sector for an offshore HSE supervisor to operate on an offshore site.     Offshore HSE supervisor – What will your main responsibilities be?   You will join the offshore project team and be responsible for monitoring, supervising, and implementing HSE requirements on board construction vessels. Your responsibilities will include:  

Monitoring and Implementation of Onboard HSE Policies  
  • Ensure HSE requirements are properly applied across all contractor and subcontractor operations
  • Contribute to the drafting, validation, and implementation of the project HSE plan in line with corporate procedures
  • Verify the proper application of specific procedures: Permit to Work (PTW), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), internal audits, and safety briefings

  Audits, Inspections, and Regulatory Compliance  
  • Conduct daily scheduled or spot HSE inspections across vessel areas (deck, engine rooms, living quarters, etc.)
  • Identify gaps, record anomalies (via Synergi or equivalent), and propose and follow up on corrective actions
  • Organize and perform onboard safety and hygiene audits and ensure traceability of all initiated actions
  • Ensure compliance with Brazilian regulations (NR standards) and other applicable frameworks

  Safety Engagement and Awareness  
  • Actively participate in daily meetings (Toolbox Talks, shift meetings, weekly safety briefings)
  • Present and promote key messages from the “Golden Rules” campaign onboard through presentations, posters, and field actions
  • Support ongoing safety campaigns (Safety Tours, field initiatives) and continuous improvement actions

  Stakeholder Coordination  
  • Collaborate closely with the contractor’s HSE representative (e.g., SS7), construction leads, and the Company Man
  • Serve as the key link onboard between teams and safety issues
  • Participate in kick-off meetings (KOM), operational planning sessions, and incident analysis meetings

  HSE Reporting and Performance Indicators  
  • Issue daily HSE reports (DDR), consolidate weekly and monthly statistics in coordination with the Project HSE Lead
  • Update key project HSE performance indicators (KPIs) and track the progress of preventive and corrective actions
  • Participate in incident/accident analysis, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), while ensuring confidentiality of HSE documentation

  What profile and skills are required for the offshore HSE supervisor role?   Education  
  • Engineering degree or equivalent in QHSE, Oil & Gas, or Maritime fields

  Experience  
  • Minimum 10 years of offshore experience, including 5 to 10 years in a similar HSE supervisory role onboard vessels or offshore platforms

  Technical Skills  
  • Strong knowledge of offshore HSE standards (SIMOPS, PTW, NR, ISO)
  • Experience with construction vessels (PLSV, PSV, etc.) and subsea operations
  • Proficient with reporting tools like Synergi or equivalent
  • Capable of leading safety meetings, raising awareness among multicultural teams, and ensuring rigorous follow-up of non-conformities

  Salary and Benefits  
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Offshore 4x4 rotation (4 weeks on / 4 weeks off), with assignments on various vessels as the project evolves
