What kind of company will you be joining as a Permit to work issuing authority?  

We are currently looking for a Permit to Work Issuing Authority for one of our clients in the energy sector, for a site-based assignment within the framework of a strategic construction program.  

Permit to work issuing authority: What will your missions and responsibilities be?  

As a permit to work issuing authority, you will be responsible for operational control of work areas, ensuring that tasks are performed safely, in compliance with procedures, and through strict management of the Permit to Work (PTW) system.

Your main duties include:  
Permit supervision and issuance:
  • Issue Permits to Work (PTW) for intervention teams
  • Review PTW documentation to ensure alignment with the actual work scope
  • Conduct site visits with the Performing Authority to verify control measures and potential task conflicts
  Site control and safety:
  • Regularly inspect work areas to ensure compliance with PTW safety conditions
  • Take immediate action in case of changes or hazardous conditions
  • Ensure that work zones are left in a safe, clean, and orderly condition upon work suspension or completion
  Operational Support and Coordination:
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks and daily meetings when needed
  • Verify isolation certificates before task execution
  • Ensure proper application of HSE standards within your area of responsibility

What profile and skills are required for this permit to work issuing authority position?
 

Education: Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification  

Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the Oil & Gas sector
  • At least 5 years of experience with Permit to Work systems (brownfield projects)
  • Experience using electronic PTW systems
  Skills:
  • Strong understanding of hazards in hydrocarbon/process environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Methodical, well-organized, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
 
Driver’s License: Valid UAE driver’s license (or ability to obtain equivalent)
