What kind of structure will you be working in as a Planner (Industrial Construction)?

We are currently looking for an Industrial Construction Planner on behalf of one of our clients. The position is based in Mourenx, Pyrénées-Atlantiques (near Pau, southwestern France).

 
Planner (Industrial Construction) – Your Missions and Responsibilities
As part of a project involving the construction of a fine chemicals production unit, we are seeking an experienced Planner capable of managing the entire project schedule, from early-phase planning to on-site execution follow-up.

You will be working on behalf of XXX, a leading international player in industrial engineering, on a technically demanding construction site with high standards in quality, safety, and coordination.

  • Your Main Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the overall project schedule (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
Identify key milestones, build the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), define critical paths, and allocate resources.
Track on-site progress and update the planning according to actual conditions and site realities.
Anticipate technical constraints and sequence the work of various trades accordingly.
Ensure close coordination with project teams, site supervisors, subcontractors, and project management.
Produce schedule reporting and raise alerts in case of deviations.
Participate in project steering meetings (schedule reviews, coordination, safety, etc.).
 
What Profile and Skills Are Required for This Planner Role (Industrial Construction)?

  • Profile 
10 to 15 years of experience as a Planner on complex industrial construction projects.
Mandatory experience in the construction of fine chemicals facilities, ideally in a pharmaceutical environment.
Excellent command of planning tools: Primavera P6 (mandatory), MS Project, or equivalent.
Strong technical knowledge of construction: civil works, piping, utilities, process equipment, etc.
Highly autonomous, with strong anticipation and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.
Natural leadership, strong attention to detail, and field-oriented mindset.
