Where will you work as a Process Safety Engineer ? 

 

We are looking for a Process Safety Engineer for one of our clients in the energy sector, who will be based in Charenton-Le-Pont (FR-94).

 

 

Process Safety Engineer : What will your tasks and responsibilities be ? 

 

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be involved in various client projects to help prevent incidents that may occur on site, such as equipment failures, loss of containment, releases of hazardous materials, fires, explosions, and other events that could cause injury, property damage, or environmental harm.

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

  • With the support of the Process Risk Manager, develop the process risk management plan for the project during the design phase by defining the appropriate studies and assessment tools.

  • Provide support to proposal, project, and technical discipline teams in identifying and interpreting applicable external and internal Air Liquide standards related to process safety.

  • Lead risk identification and analysis reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, etc.) and participate in the identification and definition of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SISs).

  • Use software tools (such as DNV PHAST and internal calculation tools) to model hazardous phenomena (e.g., fire, explosion, overpressure, chemical reactions, toxicity) in order to better understand their consequences and develop effective prevention and mitigation solutions.

  • Contribute to the development of fire and gas detection concepts and to the hazardous area classification (ATEX).

  • Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) on site (occasional international travel required).

 

What profile and skills are required for this Process Safety Engineer position ?

 

  • You hold a university degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Safety Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline with a strong focus on process engineering.
  • You have at least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in process engineering and/or related fields.
  • You have at least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in industrial process safety.
  • You have a good command of French and English, both spoken and written.
