RBI engineer: What will your missions and responsibilities be?
As an RBI Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing corrosion loop reports.
- Collecting data from various documentation sources (equipment lists, datasheets, line lists, etc.) to compile data files for RBI system import.
- Collaborating with Process, HSE, Operations & Maintenance teams to identify degradation mechanisms, define corrosion loops, and establish inspection strategies and plans.
- Conducting studies using the client-specified RBI software (e.g. Meridium).
- Developing inspection plans.
- Delivering accurate and high-quality outputs, with reliable data and clearly justified assumptions.
- Providing weekly progress reports to the project’s RBI lead.
What profile and skills are required for this RBI engineer position?
Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Corrosion Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in RBI methodology.
Technical skills:
- Solid knowledge of codes & standards related to RBI methodology (API 580/581), equipment integrity, and inspection of static equipment and piping.
- Proficiency with engineering tools and documentation related to EPC projects (PDS, MDS, GAD, P&IDs, Line Lists, piping isometrics, etc.).
- Familiarity with RBI software, especially Meridium.
- Strong knowledge of material selection (MSD and MSR preparation).
- Fluent English (spoken, written, and read).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking.
- Team spirit and strong interpersonal skills.
