What kind of structure will you be joining as a Reliability engineer?

 

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a major player in the mining industry in Madagascar, for a senior Reliability engineer to join the Asset Integrity team. This strategic position aims to enhance equipment reliability and optimize the performance of industrial facilities.

 

Senior Reliability engineer – What will your missions and responsibilities be?

 

As a Senior Reliability engineer, you will play a key role in effective asset management. Your main responsibility will be to identify and manage equipment reliability risks that could impact the company’s operational goals.

 

Your specific responsibilities include:

 

Performance and Cost Optimization:

• Maximize plant output by identifying improvement opportunities through Loss Profile Analysis.
• Develop detailed implementation plans.

 

Reliability Studies:

• Conduct reliability studies aligned with international standards using data analysis techniques such as:
  • Statistical controls and reliability modeling/prediction.
  • Weibull analysis.

 

Root Cause Analysis:

• Lead multidisciplinary RCA (Root Cause Analysis) on major plant failures.
• Identify latent causes, develop measurable action plans, and monitor their implementation.

 

Maintenance Strategy Definition:

• Define maintenance strategies for fixed assets at Ambatovy using RCM methodology, including:
  • Criticality assessments.
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Support the implementation of preventive maintenance in the EAM system.

 

Engineering Collaboration:

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that new designs include features that promote reliability and maintainability, in line with applicable standards and guidelines.

 

Maintenance Planning Participation:

• Assist in reviewing the maintenance schedule by identifying major maintenance interventions.

 

Technical Support:

• Provide technical assistance on major topics within your area of expertise.

 

Mentoring and Training:

• Mentor, coach, and train reliability engineers to ensure the transfer of skills, knowledge, and experience.

 

What profile and skills are required for this position?

 

Education:
Engineering degree in mechanical, electromechanical, or electrical engineering.

 

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial asset management within large industries.
• Proven experience in RCA, RCM, and Loss Profile Analysis.

 

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of reliability techniques such as Weibull analysis, LDA, RBD, degradation analysis, and risk management.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and reliability modeling.

 

Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on optimization and continuous improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in both French and English.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to work independently.
