Where will you work as Project Operations Manager?
We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, an international industrial contractor operating in the fields of refining, offshore, maintenance, and unit shutdowns, for a Project Operations Manager – Unit Shutdowns, based in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo.
What will your missions and responsibilities be?
Oversee the full management of RFQs (Request for Quotation), new construction works, and unit shutdowns (refinery and offshore sites).
Lead all phases from engineering and preparation to execution and safe restart of operations.
Coordinate internal and subcontractor teams (up to 200–300 personnel) to ensure quality, on-time delivery, cost control, and QHSE targets are met.
Supervise the creation and implementation of the master schedule (PERT / Gantt), monitor its progress, and adjust resources accordingly.
Anticipate risks, identify non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
Establish and track performance indicators: safety KPIs, progress, and budget.
Manage contractual and financial relationships with partners and the end client.
Represent the client in coordination meetings with stakeholders and local authorities.
What profile and skills are required for this position?
Education
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in general, mechanical, or energy engineering.
Experience
• At least 10 years in the Oil & Gas / petrochemical industries, including new construction projects.
• Minimum of 5 years in the management of large-scale unit shutdowns.
• Strong experience in managing teams of 200 to 300 people.
Skills
• Expertise in RFQs, shutdown/turnaround methodologies, and work preparation.
• Advanced planning skills: MS Project, Primavera P6.
• Proficient in reading P&ID and ISO drawings.
• Contract management, cost control, and budget monitoring.
• Strong field leadership, organizational ability, and decision-making capacity.
• High standards in QHSE compliance.
• Fluent French is mandatory, professional proficiency in English is preferred.
