Senior / principal pre-commissioning engineer (M/F)

We are recruiting for one of our clients in the offshore oil and gas industry, specializing in engineering, construction, and services, a Senior / principal pre-commissioning engineer to be based in the Île-de-France region.  

Senior / principal pre-commissioning engineer: What will your missions and responsibilities be?  

For an ongoing project, our client is seeking a senior / principal pre-commissioning engineer to coordinate all pre-commissioning activities for pipelines and umbilicals, from engineering to operations.  

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Understanding client needs and drivers
• Understanding the contract structure, responsibility splits, and interfaces between stakeholders
• Participating in project engineering reviews on all pre-commissioning/commissioning-related matters
• Participating in HAZID/HIRA workshops, supplier audits, and issuing necessary recommendations
• Attending vendor equipment functional tests
• Participating in and coordinating specific testing and onshore/offshore operations as required
• Overseeing the preparation, update, and tracking of overall equipment mobilisation lists and ensuring timely site delivery
• Coordinating and supporting site mobilisations/demobilisations
• Monitoring subcontractors
• Leading safety briefings (toolbox talks) on site
• Managing third-party subcontractors at fabrication yards and offshore vessels
• Reporting to the Project Pre-Commissioning Lead
• Supervising junior engineers on site

Working Conditions:

• 50% office-based (France, UK, or remote) and 50% field-based (onshore/offshore) on projects in Angola and Brazil
• No systematic home/onshore/offshore rotation – missions typically last 6 weeks
• Occasional travel for meetings
• Follow-up of offshore and onshore activities

  What profile and skills are required for this senior / principal pre-commissioning engineer position?  

Education:

• Engineering degree or equivalent

  Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience on EPCI / SURF projects
• Strong expertise in pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning
• Proven on-site and offshore experience as part of a project team

  Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• High-quality work and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and reporting skills
