What kind of company will you be joining as a senior project engineer?

 

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our industrial clients for a Senior Project Engineer to strengthen the technical project management teams, with a strong focus on coordination, technical support, and execution monitoring, for complex, high-stakes client projects.

 

Senior project engineer: What will your missions and responsibilities be?

 

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful execution of technical projects, from feasibility to final delivery, in collaboration with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

Project management and progress monitoring:

• Develop and manage the overall project schedule (master schedule)
• Monitor key milestones and ensure deadlines and objectives are met
• Provide monthly progress reports, highlight alerts and critical issues

 

Technical coordination:

• Collaborate with engineering and industrialization teams on feasibility studies
• Provide initial technical support during project execution
• Manage technical documents and ensure their validation with the client

 

Client and supplier relations:

• Coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT) with clients and distributors
• Attend site meetings with project managers and consultants
• Serve as the primary point of contact during installation and transition to after-sales

 

On-site supervision and final delivery:

• Supervise installation work on-site and ensure smooth execution
• Coordinate subcontractors for plans, supplies, and work
• Ensure compliance and delivery of equipment according to specifications

 

Continuous improvement and cross-functional support:

• Participate in internal continuous improvement projects
• Work with inter-factory teams on documentation, testing, and deliveries

 

What profile and skills are required for this senior project engineer position?

 

Education:

• Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with 2–3 years of experience; or
• Bac+2/3 degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience in industrial project management

 

Technical skills:

• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) drawings
• Knowledge of generators, control systems, radiators, and alternators
• Familiarity with design standards and codes for generators (an asset)

 

Behavioral skills:

• Strong client orientation, ability to work in a multi-stakeholder interface
• Analytical mindset, sense of responsibility, and organization
• Ability to work independently while ensuring rigorous coordination
• Continuous improvement and foresight mindset

 

Languages: Professional English required

 

Objectives for the first 6–12 months:

• Be autonomous in client acceptance tests (FAT)
• Master key products (engines, alternators, radiators, controllers)
• Manage a complete project schedule with reporting and corrective actions
• Be able to technically address client inquiries
