Which company will you be joining as a “SITE LIFTING SPECIALIST (M/F)”?
We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our clients, a "Site Lifting Specialist (M/F) for a 4-month renewable contract based in Luanda (Angola). This mission is on a residential basis, with no option for rotation
“Site Lifting Specialist (M/F)” What will your missions and responsibilities be?
Context & Environment
Dalia LifeX aims to extend the operational life of the Dalia Asset by 20 years, through to 2045
- Position based onshore, on a resident basis, with potential support to other PBF projects upon request
- The role operates in a challenging environment, notably due to the ageing FPSO and the condition of cranes and lifting equipment
Activities
A. HSEQ & Safety Culture
- Promote a safety culture within the project and related activities. Lead by example to encourage team members and colleagues to adhere to and contribute to HSEQ requirements
- Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior with regard to HSEQ rules and standards
- Ensure that safe and ethical working practices are implemented in all managed or interfaced activities
- Guarantee compliance with HSEQ standards and ethics within assigned responsibilities
- Work proactively by assessing and identifying risks for PBF activities and managing appropriate mitigation actions
- Keep the Divisional Manager and other relevant stakeholders informed of activity status
- Advise Project Managers on HSEQ-related actions and decisions
- Report HIPO, incidents, and anomalies; contribute to lessons learned (REX) and participate in Cause Tree Analysis following incidents, including action plan follow-up
B- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with state-of-the-art practices, TEPA referential, and local rules/laws, embedding them in all contractual requirements
- Promote and ensure application of TOTALENERGIES HSE Policy (CR EP LSO 043), national and international standards related to safe handling and lifting
C- Digitalization, Cost Control & Optimization
- Promote digitalization and innovation while applying a “good enough” approach to all activities
- Seek optimization and cost savings throughout all project phases, supporting 3C initiatives without compromising QHSE objectives
D- Lifting & Handling Operations
- Supervise lifting operations at the request of the RSES
- Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification, and categorization of lifts
- Perform periodic reviews of generic lift plans
- Ensure that equipment used for lifting is in accordance with the lifting plan
- Request CPLO approval for all critical lifting or handling operations
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of lifting operations with relevant entities
- Advise on selection of lifting equipment (cranes, forklifts), CCUs (containers, baskets, racks), and accessories (slings, shackles, etc.)
- Ensure lifting equipment inspection policy is implemented on site
- Assist the CPLO in organizing site lifting equipment, including rigging loft, inspections, and maintenance
E- Training & Capacity Building
- Prepare and conduct training sessions on “handling and lifting” for FPSO entities
- Participate in handling and lifting audits
- Assist the CPLO in assessing the competence of personnel involved in lifting/handling operations
- Coach and mentor personnel involved in lifting and handling, particularly supporting the process
- Ensure toolbox talks are conducted before each shift or prior to critical lifting operations
F- Reporting & Documentation
- Develop and maintain up-to-date site lifting and handling procedures
- Carry out post-service debriefs.
- Issue weekly and monthly activity reports.
What profile and skills are required for this “Site Lifting Specialist (M/F)” role?
The ideal candidate should have:
- Extensive knowledge of international lifting standards and best practices (ASME, FME, DIN, NSL, etc.)
- Technical expertise in offshore lifting equipment such as offshore cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, slings, etc.
- Proven ability to prepare and review risk assessments and lifting plans for standard operations
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the lifting and handling industry at a supervisory level
- Experience in the Oil & Gas sector, including hazardous areas and familiarity with ATEX requirements
- Autonomy, flexibility, and adaptability in a multicultural environment
- Fluency in English (mandatory); knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Good writing abilities, including reporting, audit documentation, and synthesis writing
