HSE LEADER - RESIDENT (M/F)

Which company will you be joining as a “HSE LEADER (M/F)”?

We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our clients, a "HSE LEADER (M/F)" for a 12-month renewable contract based in Luanda (Angola).  This mission is on a residential basis, with no option for rotation.


“HSE LEADER (M/F)”? What will your missions and responsibilities be?

 Missions
  • Support the HSAQ Manager in promoting the safety culture program, achieving HSE objectives, and ensuring compliance with company ethics, Code of Conduct, standards, laws, and contractual requirements
  • Manage safe and ethical working practices, motivate teams, and drive activities to meet project targets
  • Contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the HSE management system, including execution of the HSE training matrix and reporting of anomalies
  • Lead the site HSE supervision team and coordinate with Field Operations Representatives, RSES, Project Managers, and Package Managers on contractor surveillance, audits, inspections, and risk mitigation
  • Participate in HSE reviews, audits, and risk analyses (HAZOP, SPOT, HAZID, JRA, RLO, PTR, MAESTRO), and review contractor procedures
  • Maintain and update bridging documentation, action plans, contractor HSE procedure databases, and lifting plans in liaison with CPLO
  • Prepare HSE reports, consolidate site data, and contribute to project close-out documentation
  • Coordinate observation cards and action tracking registers, ensuring follow-up on mitigation measures
  • Comply with all position-related HSE training requirements

What profile and skills are required for this “HSE LEADER (M/F)” role?

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or HSE (Environment, Safety, Process, Mechanics, Hydraulics, etc.)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction and/or operations (Surface Operations, Drilling, Construction) within a Head Office or Affiliate, ideally including Safety Engineering
  • Fluent in English and French; Portuguese is an asset
  • Strong intercultural skills and ability to collaborate effectively with contractors and teams from diverse regions (Europe, US, Asia, Angola, etc.)
