We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our clients, a "SHUTDOWN MANAGER (M/F)” for a 24-month renewable contract based in Marchienne-au-Pont (Belgium), with the possibility of occasional remote work.
"SHUTDOWN MANAGER (M/F)”: What will your missions and responsibilities be?
Mission Context
Shutdown Manager – 2027 Major Outage, CCGT Marchienne-au-Pont
In charge of planning and executing a major two-month outage scheduled for summer 2027, potentially including a gas turbine upgrade. Management of a preparation team of 5 to 10 people and coordination of activities across the gas turbine, steam turbines, and generator scopes.
Key priorities: safety (zero accident), cost control, on-time delivery, and quality execution.
Context: power plant in operation, with intense maintenance and project activity; outage duration to be kept to a strict minimum.
Assignment period: January 2026 – September 2027

Responsibilities
HSE
- Defines and validates the HSE objectives of the outage with the Steering Committee (COPIL)
- Implements the HSE organization (procedures, audits) and ensures their application by all contractors
- Promotes collaboration to achieve safety objectives
- Participates in safety audits and ensures follow-up of corrective actions
- Develops the preparation framework, leads the Steering Committee (COPIL), and coordinates multidisciplinary teams
- Selects and validates the scope of work in collaboration with experts and relevant entities
- Coordinates the technical, logistical, and documentation preparation of the outage, as well as related procedures
- Contributes to tenders, contractor selection, and budget monitoring
- Ensures compliance with schedule, progress, and execution quality, taking corrective measures when necessary
What profile and skills are required for this "SHUTDOWN MANAGER (M/F)” for role?
Required Skills
- CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine): operational experience – Advanced level
- Industrial Project Management: experienced project manager – Expert level
- Management: several years of experience in maintenance, operations, or project leadership – Expert level
- Cross-functional Skills: analytical thinking, rigor, organization, initiative, communication, teamwork – Confirmed level
- Education: engineering degree (Master’s level) – Expert level
- Languages: French and English (reading, writing, speaking) – Expert level
