What type of organization will you be joining as a Senior Construction Planner (M/F)?
One of our clients, a major player in the oil and gas sector, is seeking a Senior Construction Planner to work on high-value onshore, offshore, and decommissioning projects.
Senior Construction Planner: What will your duties and responsibilities be?
As a Senior Construction Planner, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring all construction-related planning activities. You will actively contribute to aligning execution schedules, risk analysis, resource tracking, and coordination among project stakeholders.
Your responsibilities include:
Schedule Development and Management:
- Create and maintain integrated construction schedules (onshore, offshore, decommissioning).
- Define critical milestones related to engineering, procurement, operations, shutdowns, and marine logistics. Deploy WBS structures and coding in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Interdisciplinary Coordination:
- Work closely with the construction manager, superintendents, project managers, and execution teams.
- Liaise between various departments (engineering, procurement, operations, HSE, etc.) to integrate all schedule dependencies.
- Participate in initial planning sessions (look-ahead) and schedule review meetings.
Progress Monitoring, Reporting, and Analysis:
- Monitor work progress and propose mitigation measures in the event of delays.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports: resource histograms, critical path analysis, and risk alerts.
- Align planning results with the mechanical completion and commissioning phases.
Complex and Decommissioning Project Management:
- Support end-of-life schedules (SIMOPS, interfaces, mobilization/demobilization).
- Provide feedback during lessons learned sessions.
What are the required profile and skills for this Senior Construction Planner position?
Education:
Engineering degree or HND in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Primavera certification is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years as a project planner in the oil and gas industry.
- At least 5 years in senior planning roles, including brownfield projects.
Technical Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Ability to integrate multidisciplinary data into a single master schedule.
- Solid understanding of project interfaces (operations, shutdowns, logistics).
- Good knowledge of mechanical completion and commissioning processes.
