In what organization will you work as Senior Piping Material Engineer?
We are looking, on behalf of one of our clients in the energy sector, for a Senior Piping Material Engineer, to be based in Nanterre.
Senior Piping Material Engineer: What will your missions and responsibilities be?
As the Project Senior Piping Material Engineer on major contracts, you are in charge of piping material definition according to contractual requirements, taking into account schedule and cost constraints.
Reporting to the Piping Material Lead and in parallel to the Project Management Team, you will be able to act as deputy of the Piping Material Lead and you will be the interlocutor of the discipline for the Project and the Client.
As the Project Senior Piping Material Engineer on major contracts, your main duties will be the following:
- Creation of the Piping Classes Summary (in collaboration with the Process Department), piping material job specifications for design and supply, valve datasheets, …
- Participation in Material Take Off: working instructions, coordination, reporting,
- Quantities management (Smart Plan Material software)
- Issuance of specifications for inquiry and for order
- Issuance of Material Requisitions for inquiry and for order,
- Technical Bid Analysis, vendor clarifications and recommendation to procurement
- Vendor documentation review
To ensure a successful outcome of the Projects entrusted to you, your main contacts will be:
- Project Directors and Project Engineers,
- Technical disciplines: Process, Civil Engineering, Piping Design, Instrumentation, Inspection,
But also Clients, partners, suppliers and construction companies.
What profile and skills are required for this Senior Piping Material Engineer position?
- Approximately 10 years' experience in piping material definition, ideally in the Oil & Gas sector
- Solid knowledge of engineering processes for all types of contracts
- Good command of bulk material management
- Self-managing, dynamic and responsive
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment
- Good listener and advisor
- Strong analysis and summarizing skills
- Strong decision-making and negotiation skills
- Fluent English
- Available for short assignments in France and abroad
