In what environment will you work as a Construction Site Supervisor (M/F)?
We are currently looking for a Construction Site Supervisor (M/F) for one of our clients in the Pharmaceutical / Engineering sector. The position will be based in Normandy, as part of a 6-month consulting assignment, renewable.
Mission Context
Reporting directly to the project's Construction Manager, you will play a key role in a demanding industrial engineering project. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise the on-site execution of construction activities, oversee the work performed by contractors, and ensure strict compliance with cost, schedule, EHS and Quality requirements.
Construction Site Supervisor (M/F): What will be your roles and responsibilities?
Interface Management & Contractor Supervision
- Manage and monitor direct technical activities on the construction site.
- Ensure the technical compliance and quality of the work in accordance with established standards.
- Ensure the protection of completed works, document any damage or deterioration when necessary, and report it to the Construction Manager.
- Ensure that a contractor representative is continuously present on site whenever subcontractors are carrying out work.
Planning & Organization
- Closely monitor the project schedule and proactively identify delays, proposing corrective adjustments in coordination with the Planner and Construction Manager.
- Work closely with Work Package Owners (WPOs).
- Identify priority work areas based on the workforce under your supervision.
- Carry out ongoing site surveys and measurements to facilitate the preparation and validation of as-built documentation (DOC / DOE).
- Ensure that work areas are systematically kept clean and orderly.
Meetings & Reporting
- Lead DAB meetings (Work Area Barricading Authorization / Risk Assessment) with the client and contractors.
- Actively participate in weekly project and work coordination meetings.
- Prepare and distribute weekly progress reports on construction activities.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (EHS)
- Identify and verify storage areas and specific requirements, including hot work permits.
- Ensure that daily SPA and work permits are signed before construction activities begin.
- Verify that contractors are carrying out work using the latest approved versions of drawings and plan
What profile and skills are required for this Construction Site Supervisor (M/F) position?
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in construction supervision or site management, ideally within demanding industrial environments such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cleanrooms or highly technical construction projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of EHS procedures, including RAMS, hot work permits and work permits, as well as contractor management and supervision.
- Rigorous, well-organized and highly responsive when dealing with unforeseen site issues.
- Strong team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead coordination meetings involving multiple contractors and companies.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of vigilance regarding site regulations and compliance requirements.
Education
- Bachelor's to Master's degree (Bac+2 to Bac+5 equivalent), such as a BTS/DUT, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Industrial Engineering or Construction Project Management.
