Which organization will you be working for as Expeditor / Inspector?

We are looking for one of our clients in the energy sector, an Expeditor / Inspector, based in Nanterre.

 

Expeditor / Inspector: What will your missions and responsibilities be?

Drive supplier performance on assigned Purchase Orders: ensure that supply complies with contractual requirements (deadlines, quality, documentation), in coordination with Shop Expeditors and Inspectors. Work closely with VPM Lead Coordinators, Managers and Deputies.

  • Expediting and inspection: define the levels according to the project's criticality analysis, and remain accountable for all VPM activities on your POs.
  • Execution monitoring: supplier schedule (engineering, sub-orders, manufacturing, testing, delivery), documentation, ITP intervention points (interim, FAT).
  • Risk management: identify critical paths and slippages, assess their severity (Delivery Manager, site ROS dates), define and follow up mitigation/recovery plans, issue alert notices.
  • VPM deliverables: check and distribute reports (Pre-Inspection, Pre-Fabrication, Expediting, Inspection, Inspection Release Note) with key highlights and risks.
  • Interfaces: single point of entry for Project / Client / Supplier on your POs.
  • Resources: issue assignment requests/POs/requisitions for expeditors and inspectors, with Resource Management.
  • Reporting: KPIs, man-hours budget, updating VPM IT tools, contributing to supplier and inspection agency performance evaluations.
  • Meetings: organize/attend Pre-Inspection, Hand-Over and project meetings.
  • Cross-functional: may coach other coordinators.

What profile and skills are required for this Expeditor / Inspector position?

  • Bachelor's degree minimum (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, engineering) or business/management school.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in inspection, quality, engineering, manufacturing, supplier development/supplier quality or project management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills in a specialty: PVHE, packages, piping/valves, E&I, Long Lead Items.
  • Proficiency in a material management system (e.g. Smart Material – Intergraph).
  • Professional level of spoken and written English.
  • Autonomy and collaboration, ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Problem-solving skills and understanding of business impact.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills at all organizational levels.
